Ace of Hearts (The Cursed Ravens MC, #1)

I’m absolutely obsessed with motorcycle romances here lately. I just can’t seem to get enough of them!! Leave your recs below for MC books you’ve read and loved.

Amelia Bedelia (Amelia Bedelia #1)

Who saw this one coming?! lol!! I just couldn’t have a post featuring A book titles and not mention my favorite Amelia Bedelia series. This is the series that made me fall in love with reading. I can vividly remember reading all these when I was younger.

Arrogant Devil

LOVE LOVE LOVE this book. If you are into slow burn romances, this is the one for you. I did the big cheesy grins and laughed SO much with this one. This author never fails to bring humor to her romances and I love it!!

Books Starting With “A” On My TBR

After You (Me Before You, #2)

I still haven’t read this!! I can’t believe it!! I loved book one, Me Before You, so not sure why I haven’t gotten around to reading the sequel. Hopefully soon!!!

Always and Forever, Lara Jean (To All the Boys I've Loved Before, #3)

Another book I haven’t read yet. This is the final book in the To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before trilogy. I really want to go back and reread the first two books before wrapping up this series. That’s all that’s stopping me at this point.

The Awakening (The Vampire Diaries, #1)

I really enjoyed the TV series for The Vampire Diaries so I want to eventually read the book series. I hear there are quite a few differences so I’m excited to read and see what I think. I can’t believe TVD and The Originals are both off air 😦 Where will I get my vampire fix?!

There is post one of 26 for this ABC book challenge!!! I had a blast coming up with which books to feature. Let me know if you’ve read any of these in the comments below!!

Review: Promise and Commitment by T.K. Leigh

Promise: A Redemption Series Prologue (Redemption, #0.5)

This is the first story I’ve read by this author and I was quite impressed. She was able to make me feel a lot of things in such a short amount of pages. I’m super excited to read more about this couple. I’m truly rooting for them to overcome all these obstacles and live happily ever after. 4 Stars.

Commitment (Redemption, # 1)

This review is for an ARC and is my unbiased, honest opinion.

“The ones we love the hardest are the ones we hurt the most.”

I highly recommend reading the prequel before starting commitment. It added a lot of backstory that helped you in understanding things for Commitment. I love how time didn’t lessen Drew and Brooklyn’s feelings for each other. How some love just transcends time. Their love isn’t this happy, fluffy love. It’s this..well the book said it best…”The gritty kind of love. The kind you have to work for, that doesn’t come easily, that has absolutely zero resemblance to a fairy tale. The love that hurts, rips out your soul, stomping on it and bringing you to the lowest of lows.” Just wow!!! That quote was amazing!!

To give you a little backstory, Brooklyn grew up with siblings Drew and Molly. Molly was Brooklyn’s best friend and Brooklyn fell for Drew quite early on in life. Different obstacles kept them apart through the years and eventually Brooklyn gets engaged to someone else. This story is about Brooklyn trying to find where her heart belongs. Do you stay with comfort and surety? Or do you take a leap into the unknown, hoping someone is there to catch you? This story was beautifully written and I highly recommend giving it a read. 4 Stars.

Review: Bishop by Sawyer Bennett

Bishop (Arizona Vengeance, #1)

Bishop by Sawyer Bennett

2 Stars

This review is for an ARC and is my unbiased, honest opinion.

This just wasn’t the book for me. Parts of the plot felt so unrealistic….I also had issues with this going into bdsm territory. That’s not something I enjoy reading so it really threw things off quite a bit for me.

Bishop and Brooke met at a bar one night and they decided to have a one night stand. They felt a connection but decided not to explore things and just leave it at one night. The next day Bishop, a professional hockey player, is exploring his new team’s headquarters and he finds Brooke in one of the offices. They’re both thrown off to find out the true identity of each other but can’t fight their connection. Her father, the head coach, stumbles into the room and finds them in a close embrace. Without thinking, Brooke spouts off that they are actually engaged. Oookkayyyyy. I feel that just went from zero to 900,000 lol. The rest of the book is Bishop and Brooke figuring out how to continue the lie to not hurt Bishop’s hockey career.

In theory, it sounded like a fun plot….although the engagement part did throw me off. I just couldn’t get into it. I never really got invested into the characters. I REALLY didn’t get into Bishop because he came off too aggressively. He also was too kinky for my tastes.

This was my first book by this author so I’m not sure if this is her usual writing style or this book just happened to be more kinker than the others. If bdsm is your thing, that’s totally fine. It’s just not something I enjoy reading.

Overall, this did have some nice moments with Bishop and Brooke…however, it just wasn’t enough to make me love the story as a whole.

Review: Boy Toy by Sarina Bowen and Tanya Eby

Boy Toy (Man Hands, #3)

Boy Toy by Sarina Bowen and Tanya Eby

3 Stars

First off, I loved the foundation for this story. I just think it could’ve been executed a little better. I fell for Sadie and her two daughters very early on. They’re so adorable and sweet!!! I also really liked Sadie’s friends, Ash and Brynn. Their friendship was the best. I love having strong friendships in my stories.

The down side for me was the mentioning of the age gap on practically every single page. I got so tired of hearing Liam mention his fourteen year old self. It appeared so often that I couldn’t even follow along with the story without waiting on that phrase to pop up.

With the age gap issue aside, it was still a great story. I enjoyed the writing, the characters, the premise of this story, etc. I look forward to reading more from this author. Sadly, this just wasn’t a hit for me.

Disclaimer: This book can be read as a standalone.

Review: Dragon’s Lair by Chantal Fernando

Dragon's Lair (Wind Dragons MC, #1)

Dragon’s Lair (Wind Dragons MC #1)
by Chantal Fernando

4 Stars

I just love me some motorcycle romances. Chantal really does a fabulous job with her MC romances. I recently read and loved her other MC book called Ace of Hearts. You can check out my review here. I enjoyed it so much that I immediately checked out her other books and found this one. Sadly my library doesn’t have these and I had to get the first one through Interloan. May end up just buying this series from Amazon because I really enjoyed it.

This action packed story is about Faye and Dexter aka Dex. They grew up side by side and have been friends pretty much their entire lives. Even with a 5 year age gap, these two had a bond from the get go. The flashback scenes were the cutest. I can just imagine this big, bad biker having a tea party when he was younger just because his sweet, little neighbor asked him too. Dex always looked out for Faye so of course, she developed a crush for her older friend. How could she not?

For the most part I enjoyed everything about this book. There were a few things that I didn’t like though. For example, one of the MC members pushed a drunk woman and she fell. I just don’t condone that behavior whatsoever. I don’t care how belligerent she was or wasn’t acting, there’s just some things you don’t do. I also felt Faye was pretty flirty with the other guys. It seemed she was always making certain comments, touching them, or just overall sending the wrong message at times. I honestly could’ve seen her ending up with another one of the guys because of their connection.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. I read it pretty much in one day because I just couldn’t put it down. I felt a connection to each of the characters and I know my jaw fell open several times while reading this. I cannot wait to get my hands on the others in this series and hope they are just as great.

Review: Not so nice guy by R.S. Grey

R.S. Grey’s newest romantic comedy, NOT SO NICE GUY, is available TODAY! Get your hands on it now!

“Oh my god. Who is that?”

I get asked this question a lot.

“Oh him?” I reply. “That’s just Ian.”

Just Ian is the biggest understatement of the century. Just the Mona Lisa. Just the Taj Mahal. Just Ian, with his boring ol’ washboard abs and dime-a-dozen dimpled smile.

Just Ian is…just my best friend.

We’re extremely close, stuck so deep inside a Jim-and-Pam-style friendzone everyone at work assumes we’re a couple—that is until one day, word spreads through the teacher’s lounge that he’s single. Fair game. Suddenly, it’s open season on Ian.

He should be reveling in all the newfound attention, but to our mutual surprise, the only attention he seems to want is mine.

He’s turning our formerly innocent nightly chats into X-rated phone calls. Our playful banter sports a new, dangerous edge.

I want to assume he’s playing a prank on me, just pushing my buttons like always—but when Ian lifts me onto the desk in my classroom and slides his hands up my skirt, he doesn’t leave a lot of room for confusion.

I’m a little scared of things going south, of losing my best friend because I can’t keep my hands to myself. So, I’m just going to back away and not return this earth-shattering kiss—oh who am I kidding?!

Goodbye Ian, ol’ buddy, ol’ pal!

Helloooo mister not so nice guy.

This review is for an ARC and is my unbiased, honest opinion.

Rachel Grey has done it again!!! I cannot get enough of her writing!!! She is such a talented writer who has a way of making me want to finish her books in one sitting. It seems like a 300+ page book is merely 5 pages long. I never want her stories to end. The characters she creates make me wish they were real. I have yet to read a book by this author that didn’t leave me floating on clouds.

Not so nice guy is about two best friends name Ian and Sam. They both have feelings for each other but don’t want to risk messing up their friendship. When I say they are besties, I mean it. They work together as teachers, go home and cook together, watch TV shows, etc. The whole enchilada. I fell so hard for this couple.

Sam was this dessert loving, down to earth woman. I want to be her bestie SO badly. I love how she wanted her routines and world to always stay the same. She doesn’t do well with changes and loves to over analyze things……BASICALLY she’s me. I think that’s why I loved her so much. I truly appreciated how patient Ian was with her during her freak out moments. He was her safe place, her lighthouse.

Now Ian, whew. This man is in my top 3 book boyfriends (this list changes daily but mainly filled with RS Grey characters lol). He was so swoon worthy. I could easily picture his drool worthy muscles and that trademark cocky grin. Ian was so attentive to Sam. The nicknames he used for her….Samwich, Sam and Cheese, etc. OMG, I swooned so hard. They’re just couples goals let’s be honest.

This was one of the funniest romances I’ve read in a really long time. I’m talking laugh out loud and sore cheeks from constantly laughing and grinning. It was seriously the whole package. It had romance, humor, steam, cuteness, etc. I highly recommend reading this book as soon as possible. You cannot go wrong with this author and especially this book.
